Daksh aims to make programming approachable without reducing the language to a toy. The core syntax is intentionally direct, while the architecture is designed to grow.
Daksh started with a language specification and a working browser interpreter. The project is being developed incrementally, with the current Phase 0 foundation frozen before larger runtime and ecosystem work begins.
Daksh aims to make programming approachable without reducing the language to a toy. The core syntax is intentionally direct, while the architecture is designed to grow.
Language decisions are specified first, implemented in the interpreter, tested with focused and integration programs, documented, and then frozen.
The current implementation is the public starting point, not the final destination.
Language design, working web interpreter, standard library foundation, tests and documentation.
Strengthen the engine and define the next language/runtime capabilities without breaking the frozen foundation.
Native runtime, compiler, CLI, package system, developer tooling, Studio and eventually self-hosting.
Explore the language or run code directly in the browser.
